Duelists are the most fundamental part of Gentlemen's Duel, as all gameplay is driven directly by the Duelists. Players are split into two teams of 5, and can select their Duelist from a selection screen. Each duelist has a unique play style which differentiates them from their fellows and is goverened by the combination of their Abilities and Attributes. Duelists do not level and start each game with themselves and their abilities at maximum power. During the course of a match, Duelists will acquire Gold which can be used to instantly purchase Items of great power from anywhere on the map. Each hero has a distinct Class which is a coarse determiner of playstyle, and different classes are subject to different Regulations and Penalties during Competitive Play. There are currently 20 Duelists available in the main Gentlmen's Duel client, with plans to add many more over time.

You may also want to browse the duelists by their more compact Duelist Grid, which is similar to the in-game selection screen.

InterceptorsEdit

The Interceptor is a Defensive class which excels at ending pursuits and recovering Relics stolen by the opposition's Offensive lineup. Because of their high mobility and control, these Duelists can carry relics in a pinch, but are wasted on the task, being suited much better to the task of extensively disrupting the opposition's gameplan.

These Duelists are best suited to being team captains; and most teams are best served by employing a single Tactician.
